If you’ve ever thought ‘What am I doing with my life?’, ‘What am I going to be when I ‘grow up?’, ‘Is this it?’, ‘I need a change, but I’m not sure what’, this program is a chance to find clarity and take real action to test out possible new lives or careers.
The Designing Your Life ideas, tools and exercises were developed by Bill Burnett (executive director of the design program at Stanford University) and Dave Evans, who partnered to create a course at Stanford to help students design a life after college. That course has gone on to become one of the most popular elective subjects at Stanford. Bill and Dave then co-authored the books Designing Your Life and Designing Your Work Life to enable more people (at all life stages) to apply this framework and tools to answer the question – how do I create a meaningful and fulfilling life?
Clare is a certified Designing Your Life coach and has designed this group coaching program to include powerful and fun activities and discussions that will support you to design a work-life that leverages your unique strengths, values and interests and that feels meaningful and impactful for you!
Program structure
The program is delivered over 5 weeks and consists of:
- Week 1 – Complete some preparatory exercises to reflect on where you are now, what you’d like to get out of the program, and the fundamental beliefs and values that shape your work and life. You’ll also have an initial 1-hour individual coaching session (via phone or Zoom). This is an opportunity to meet your coach (Clare), clarify your goals, and answer any questions about the program.
- Weeks 2, 3 and 4 – Three 75-minute discussion groups (online via Zoom) that will take place weekly. To get the most out of the program you need to be able to attend all 3 sessions. The discussion group will have 3-6 participants plus Clare as your certified Designing Your Life coach. There are some preparatory activities to do before each session (which will take about 30-45 minutes to complete each week).
- Week 5 – Final 1-hour individual coaching session (via phone or Zoom) for reflection, accountability and confirming next steps.
